Headline: The first exhibition opens in Dallas.
Dates: TBD
Location: TBD
Hours: TBD
Entry: Free. Always. No one should be priced out of being heard.
What to expect. Plan for about 45 minutes, or longer if you want to listen to more stories. The room is quiet, so please silence your phone. Photos of the room are welcome, but please don't record the stories.
Take care of yourself. These stories describe sexual assault. Listen to as many or as few as feels right. You can hang up at any time. Our team is in the room if you need a moment, and support resources are available at the exit.
Accessibility. The space is [STEP-FREE / WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE — CONFIRM]. Written transcripts are available for visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing. Contact us ahead of time with any needs.
Coming to your city. The Unsaid Project will travel. Each city adds its own women's voices. Sign up to hear where we're going next.
Visit
The Exhibition
Each station
The Phone. A vintage black rotary phone. Lift the receiver and you'll hear one woman's story, in her own voice, from beginning to end.
The Plaque. One line from her story, in her own words, signed only "anonymous." The plaques change every week as new voices are shared, so each visit honors different women.
The Stool. A place to sit and stay with her. There's no rush. Listen for as long as she speaks.
The Flowers. White calla lilies, for her. If her story moves you, leave a flower at her station. By the end of each day, the women who were heard are marked in white.
Her Story, on the other end. A real woman who called in, anonymously, and said what she had never said before.
Before you leave
The Bench. In the center of the room, a place to rest and breathe.
The Wall. A blank white wall and a dish of pencils. Write one line to the women you heard. "I believe you." "Me too." "You are not alone." Every wall is photographed before it is painted fresh, so no message is lost.
A Flower to Take. Take one white stem with you on your way out.
